Compassion for Mankind

I am the wife of a minister.  My husband and I recently came across a homeless man and we knew the right thing to do was to stop and talk to him. He looked tired and hungry, and he had a look of hopelessness on his face.  He told us his name was Paul and he told us about a few things that had happened in his life.
We gave him a  little money and a Bible, and my husband took time to talk to Paul for a little while.  As we were leaving, Paul thanked us for the Bible, the money, and for the time we took to talk to him.  The look of appreciation this man had was something we will never forget.
It's unfortunate that the homeless population is increasing rapidly and some of these homeless include children. I would like to tell you something you probably haven't considered. There are several reasons people have no place to live, and here are some of those reasons,
Some of these people have no family to help, and the homeless shelters are full so they have nowhere to go.
Some have lost their homes and everything they own due to a fire.  Some have no homes because they lost their jobs, and even though still looking, they haven't found a job.    Some have been evicted because their rent went up and they could no longer afford it. Some have lost their homes due to foreclosure.  Some of these people are military veterans who have come home just to find they have lost their homes. These are the men, women, and children who live in wooded area's without the things some of us take for granted, such as food, shelter, blankets, and other basic needs.  Some of these people are overlooked and treated like outcasts. They feel like no one cares and they feel like things are hopeless.  All they need is a helping hand and someone who cares.
In reality, the fact is, this could happen to any of us!!
My husband and I, as well as other family members, donate often but we can't do it alone.  We need your help in making a bigger impact in the lives of these people who feel lost and alone! With any donations we receive, we will be buying these people food, water, blankets, and other basic needs,  We will be passing these things out to them.  My husband will also be passing out Bibles and having a service for them.
I'd like to make a list with the names of people who help and the states you are from to show these people that there are still people out there who have compassion for their fellow man and want to help with their basic needs, lift their spirits and give them the confidence they need.
Any donation will help.

Thank you and God Bless!
